Everlasting Sabbath
Everlasting Sabbath is eternal rest, unceasing peace and
endless communion with God. Uninterrupted by earthly time and daily
events.
In Genesis, the seventh day is very different from the other days!

Genesis 1:
|
So the evening and the morning were
|
|
5
|
the first day.
|
|
8
|
the second day.
|
|
13
|
the third day.
|
|
19
|
the fourth day.
|
|
23
|
the fifth day.
|
|
31
|
the sixth day.

Genesis 2:1-3
1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the
host of them, were finished.
2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had
done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He
had done.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it,
because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and
made.
There was no mention of “So the evening and the morning were the
seventh day.”
From the very beginning, God has instituted the Sabbath not just as
a weekly event or rest. He desires us to have everlasting Sabbath,
seven days a week and 24 hours a day. Endless rest for the soul,
heart and spirit.
This blessed rest is beyond our earthly time and calendar. It is
where we rest from our spiritual, physical and emotional toil. It
is a rest bestowed to us from God.
Matthew 11:28
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest.
Many people do not have rest for their souls. They may find some
temporary relief here and there. But they could not find true rest
for their souls.
Facing a world that is going crazy and falling apart, many are not
able to have good sleep and rest at night.
Looking at endtime events unfolding daily, many just focus on the
bad and terrible things. They do not have hope for what is about to
happen.
John 14:1-4
1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also
in Me.
2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I
would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again
and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may
be also.
4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have
peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of
good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
We can only find everlasting peace and rest in Christ. Even in
troubled times, we will be strong and have hope. In Him we live and
move and have our being.
Acts 17:28
for in Him we live and move and have our being, as
also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His
offspring.’
When we have everlasting rest for our souls, we will not fear in
times of troubles. We will not be swayed by daily world events
and problems when we are firmly founded on the Word of God! Christ
is the Solid Rock upon which we will stand! No more standing and
living on
shifting sands or temporary foundations.
When we found everlasting rest for our souls, we will cease from our
earthly pursuits, wanting this and that but never having enough. We
will cease from the labor that will cause us pains and heartaches.
When we have everlasting rest for our souls, we will be blessed
spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Our eyes will be fixed on
Christ, and not on the things of the world, and not on the unfolding
of endtime events.
Philippians 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
When we have everlasting rest for our souls, we will not no
longer fear death. Whether we are alive or dying, we know that our
Redeemer lives. The reason we live is Christ and Christ alone.
Matthew 11:29
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly
in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
May we find rest for our souls. A rest that is endless and
everlasting!
