Psalm 45
Psalm 45 is about the marriage
of our coming King. It is a royal wedding song.
It was the good matter that
was inditing in the heart of the psalmist. This psalmist was one of
the sons of Korah and not King David. He was ready to sing as he
penned and wrote this song.
The song was dedicated to the
Messianic King whom he loved dearly. Every word is written
concerning the King and His Bride. The psalmist's heart was
overflowing with joy and love as he composed:
My heart is overflowing with a good theme;
I recite my composition concerning the King;
my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
You are fairer than the sons of men;
grace is poured upon Your lips;
therefore God has blessed You forever.
Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O Mighty One,
with Your glory and Your majesty.
And in Your majesty ride prosperously
because of truth, humility, and righteousness;
and Your right hand shall teach You awesome things.
Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the King's
enemies;
the peoples fall under You.
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.
All Your garments are scented
with myrrh and aloes and cassia,
out of the ivory palaces,
by which they have made You glad.
Kings' daughters are among Your honorable women;
at Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir.
Listen, O daughter, consider and incline your ear;
forget your own people also, and your father's house;
So the King will greatly desire your beauty;
because He is your Lord, worship Him.
And the daughter of Tyre will come with a gift;
the rich among the people will seek your favor.
The royal daughter is all glorious within the palace;
her clothing is woven with gold.
She shall be brought to the King in robes of many
colors;
the virgins, her companions who follow her,
shall be brought to You.
With gladness and rejoicing they shall be brought;
they shall enter the King's palace.
Instead of Your fathers shall be Your sons,
whom You shall make princes in all the earth.
I will make Your name to be remembered in all
generations;
therefore the people shall praise You forever and ever.
Truly our Bridegroom is coming
again! He is glorious, victorious, shining magnificently! He is now
preparing His Bride – a holy Bride without any blemish. He is
raising up an army of godly people who will seek His kingdom and His
righteousness.
He will defend truth. He is
humble and just, doing great and awesome deeds! His arrows will be
sharp, piercing the hearts of His enemies. They will fall before Him
and acknowledge His Kingship and Lordship. His throne will last
forever. Righteousness is His royal scepter.
He loves what is righteous and
hates what is wicked. Therefore His heart is glad. His robes are
perfumed with myrrh, aloes and cassia. His palaces are made with
ivory. Lovely music is being played for His enjoyment. Kings'
daughters are among His honorable women.
Standing at His right hand is
His queen and bride. She is wearing the most precious jewelry made
of finest gold from Ophir. She was advised not to worry about her
parents in her homeland far away. Her royal husband delights in her
beauty. She is to reverence and love Him for He is her Lord and
Lover.
On their wedding day, even the
people of Tyre, one of the richest people on earth, will shower Him
with gifts and entreat His favors. There will be the great transfer
of wealth from the unrighteous into His kingdom. The unrighteous
will come to acknowledge and receive their Lord and King! They too
will be at the wedding. They will bring all their precious treasures
and wealth laying all of them down before Him.
For thus says the LORD of hosts: "Once more (it is a
little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry
land; 'and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the
Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,'
says the LORD of hosts. 'The silver is Mine, and the
gold is Mine,' says the LORD of hosts.'The glory of
this latter temple shall be greater than the former,' says the
LORD of hosts. 'And in this place I will give peace,' says the
LORD of hosts." Haggai 2:6-9
His lovely Bride waits within
her chamber before the wedding procession begins. The bridal
entrance is majestic and glorious! She is robed in grand ravishing
clothing woven with gold. She is beautiful to behold. Her
bridesmaids are following her - giving glory and honor to their
King! As they enter into the palace gates, there is such joy and
love flooding the presence of the King! It is truly the bridal
procession of all ages! The wedding we are all waiting for!
The sons of our Lord will some
day be kings like their Father. They shall sit on thrones around the
world! They will reign with the King of kings and the Lord of lords
forever.
His name will be honored in
all generations. All the nations of the earth will praise Him
forever.
