The Circuit Of God

The wind goes toward the south,
and turns around to the north;
the wind whirls about continually,
and comes again on its circuit.
Ecclesiastes 1:6

More than a thousand years before the scientists discovered about how the waves and winds operated on the surface of the Earth, the Bible had already stated it in Ecclesiastes 1:6.

The sun is the main source of all the earth’s light, heat and weather. More light and heat from the Sun arrive at the Earth’s equator than at its two poles. As a result, air gets hotter at the equator than at the poles. As heat flows from a warmer body to a cooler body, hot tropical air rises towards the poles in massive convectional currents. This induces warm winds to move from the hotter equator towards the colder poles - northwards to the North Pole and southwards to the South Pole. These winds drag across vast areas of sea and pull the surface waters in the same direction. As they do so, waves are formed as the friction between the winds and waters increase.

All these global winds are affected by the rotation of the Earth. As the Earth rotates from west to east, its movement makes the pole-heading currents to curve towards their right in the Northern Hemisphere and towards their left in the Southern. As these warm winds from the equator travel toward the poles, they will curve at the poles due to the rotation of the earth. They will make a U-turn at the poles, and turn back to the equator. As they do so, they will bring the cooler polar air with them.

This is the design of God. The Son of God is the Master Builder of His Church. And the gates of hell shall not prevail against her (Matthew 16:18). The Church was birthed in Jerusalem about 2000 years ago. In the Upper Room in Jerusalem, about 120 disciples of Jesus waited upon the promise of their Lord (Acts 1 - 2). The Holy Spirit descended upon all of them on the Day of Pentecost. They received the power of God to proclaim the Gospel of Christ. From Jerusalem, the Good News traveled to all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. But this is not the end! The circuit of God is not yet completed!

Today, the Gospel has reached the uttermost parts of the earth, except a few tribes here and there are still not being reached. The Wind of God, the Holy Spirit, is moving all over the earth. Revival fires are ignited everywhere He goes. As the Spirit touches the hearts of the people, they become alive. Warmed by the love of God, these newly born again Christians will then preach the gospel to others. These warm hearts will move and touch others who are not yet warmed. From Jerusalem, the gospel had traveled to Europe to America to Asia to Australia to the Pacific Islands, and now it is coming back to where it had started! Everywhere it goes, the gospel transforms lives and communities, bringing light, hope and progress for the nations.

In Ezekiel 37, the prophet was carried away by the Spirit of the LORD to a valley filled with dry bones. All of the bones were scattered everywhere. Then the Spirit asked Ezekiel, "Son of man, can these bones become living people again?"

"O Sovereign LORD," Ezekiel replied, "You alone know the answer."

Then He said to him, "Speak to these bones and say, 'Dry bones, listen to the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Look! I am going to breathe into you and make you live again! I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.' "

So Ezekiel spoke these words, just as he was told. Suddenly as he spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as they had been before. Then muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them. Then the LORD said to him, "Speak to the winds and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so that they may live again.' " So Ezekiel spoke as he was commanded. The wind entered the bodies, and they began to breathe. They all came to life and stood up on their feet--a great army of them.

Then the LORD said to Ezekiel, "Son of man, these bones represent the people of Israel. They are saying, 'We have become old, dry bones--all hope is gone.' Now give them this message from the Sovereign LORD: O my people, I will open your graves of exile and cause you to rise again. Then I will bring you back to the land of Israel. When this happens, O my people, you will know that I am the LORD. I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live and return home to your own land. Then you will know that I am the LORD. You will see that I have done everything just as I promised. I, the LORD, have spoken!"

After being scattered for more than 2000 years, the Lord is now gathering the Jews back to their homeland. It is at this strategic moment in world history that revival fires begin to ignite all over the world. Millions upon millions of people are coming into the kingdom of God. The Holy Fire of God spreads on. As the Gentiles are entering into their fullness, the gospel is now making a U-turn back to the Jews.

Being back in Israel, these Jews are lost without their Messiah. They are like the dry bones coming together with the muscles, flesh and skin but they do not have the Spirit of God, Until today, Israel is still seeking her identity. More than 50% of the Jews are secular. They have lost their reason for existence. Why do the peoples of the world have so much hatred against her? Why is she so different from the else of the world? Why do the nations of the earth rage against her and blame her for every terrorist act done by her enemies? Unless she can see the hand of God, she will be discouraged and despondent. God is turning her eyes towards Himself. God will restore Israel! But He needs us to be part of His reviving and restoring team. God still uses ordinary men and women to fulfill His eternal plans and purposes. In all the revivals of God, God ordains men and women to be carriers of His mandate, message and mission.

I believe the four winds in the Ezekiel's prophecy are not just the Holy Spirit Himself, but they are Christians who are filled with the Holy Spirit. As their hearts are warmed with the love of God, they are willing to go where the Spirit leads them. I believe that the Spirit is going to breathe into these “dead bodies” so that they may live again. The Jews will become alive when they receive their Messiah!

Israel needs the Lord! How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!" (Romans 10:14-15)

The Wind of God is blowing back towards Israel. Here is the message for those who preach the good news on the mountain of the LORD (Isaiah 40:9):

You who bring good tidings to Zion,
go up on a high mountain.
You who bring good tidings to Jerusalem,
lift up your voice with a shout,
lift it up, do not be afraid;
say to the towns of Judah,
"Here is your God!"
