When We Enthrone God In Our Life

Psalm 22:3
But You are holy,
Enthroned in the praises of Israel.

Psalm 29:10
The LORD sat enthroned at the Flood,
And the LORD sits as King forever.

When we enthrone God in our life, the LORD will inhabit in our praises, and will dwell inside us! His living waters will flow, and our souls will begin to exalt and bless His holy name in good times, and also in bad times!

But many Christians do not enthrone God in their life. To enthrone God or not enthrone God in our life is a free choice given by God! Before we are saved, we are given the free choice to receive Him as Saviour or not. Similarly, even though Jesus is our Lord, God still gives us the free choice to accept and acknowledge His Lordship or not. His Lordship is never imposed upon us. Is Christ the Lord and King of our life?

Jesus is our Saviour and Lord! Very often, many believers only treat Jesus as their Saviour, but not the Lord in their life. The Lordship of Christ is not evident or manifested in their daily deeds and conduct! They have other masters or lords in their hearts. Who is the Master or Lord in our life? Christ is either Lord of all, or is not Lord at all.

Why do we need to enthrone Christ in our life? Simply because He is the Head, and we are the Body! Many Christians are like chickens running about wildly without any heads! Some even have other kinds of heads but not Christ!

Ephesians 4:11-16
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,
15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—
16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Some people have been given great responsibilities and gifts as apostles. Some are gifted as prophets, hearing and speaking messages or words from God. Some have been given the gift of being able to preach well, and win people to Christ. Some have a gift for shepherding and caring for God’s people. Some are gifted to teach and guide others in the ways of God. But these fivefold ministry leaders are not our Head! Some of the fivefold ministry leaders are true servants of God, and followers of Christ! But many of them are not.

Matthew 24:11-12
11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

Today, many churches have become entertainment centres, rock music venues and conference halls for aspirational talk shows and motivational speeches, teaching some self-improvement and get-rich-quick steps and tips. These teachers, preachers and pastors are often dressed with attires and make-ups like Hollywood superstars and popular celebrities. Some have gone for plastic surgeries to look younger and healthier! The pulpit is equipped with expensive sound systems and special lighting effects. The music is no longer sacred, but very secular, following and patterning after the current trends of the world! Thus, many Christians dress, talk, act and behave like their false apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. And many of their favorite spiritual idols and megastars do not have any Christlikeness in them! But their die-hard fans will still exalt and enthrone them ridiculously above the Lord, and will mention their names more often than the name of the Lord!

Why do God bestow spiritual gifts to the true fivefold ministry leaders? Simply to fully equip and perfect the people of God for works of service so that the Church or the Body of Christ will be built up to a position of strength and maturity, and until all of us know finally and believe wholly about our salvation and about our Saviour. Yes, till all of us have become fully grown and matured in the Lord, and totally filled with Christ.

When we do so, we will no longer be spiritually immature like little children. We will not be tossed back and forth like ships on stormy seas. We will not be carried away by every wind of strange doctrines or false teachings, by the cunningness and trickery of deceitful men. These false teachers, apostles and prophets are always ready to do anything for their own personal and monetary gains by misleading others through dishonest schemes and scams.

God desires that we will speak the truth in love, and follow the truth at all times. Yes, in all things - both in our speech and in our life expressing His truth. Our life must match our words! How we live must equal what we say! Then we will grow up in all things to become more like Jesus each new day. We will be able to follow His example as He is our Head.

Under His Lordship and direction, the whole body of Christ is fitted together perfectly. Everyone has a part to play - helping others, serving others, loving others, caring for others and sharing with others. As we do so, the whole body of Christ will be healthy, and growing and full of agape love. When Christ our Head is in place or enthroned, the whole Body of Christ will be able to function properly and perfectly!

In our younger days, we use to sing this song:

Jesus, we enthrone You
We proclaim You are King
Standing here, in the midst of us
We raise You up with our praise
And as we worship, build Your throne
And as we worship, build Your throne
And as we worship, build Your throne
Come Lord Jesus, and take Your place.

The lyrics are simple but yet so powerful! It reveals our inner attitudes and heart postures. God desires that we enthrone Him in our daily living, not just in our songs but also in our life!

As we place Christ on the highest place, God is also positioning us in our rightful places. As we humble and submit ourselves to His Lordship, we will also come to know who we truly are in Christ!

When we enthrone Jesus in our life, we will mature and become more like Him! Yes, increasingly more Christlike each new day!
