The Lord Has Spoken To You
John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you
may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of
good cheer, I have overcome the world.
We have often said that the Lord has not spoken to us or given us
a word. But this is totally untrue! The Lord has spoken! It is whether
we hear it or not. And it is whether we choose to hear it or not.
The Lord has not only spoken to us, He has commanded us to do
what He has spoken and willed. He has called and chosen us to be His
holy priesthood to proclaim His praises among people who have not
yet known Him. And He has also commissioned us to tell and teach
others what He has spoken.
John 13:34
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one
another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a
holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the
praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His
marvelous light;
10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had
not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been
given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and
of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded
you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the
age.” Amen.
His words were also written down, not easily erased away. Like
royal decrees, His words need to be
obeyed accordingly! Someone once told me that she did not have to read the Bible anymore
as she had the Rhema Word of God everyday! Relying solely upon what
she was feeling in her heart, she would prophesy and proclaim things
that were mostly unbiblical and untrue!
Logos is the Written Word of God. Rhema is when the Written Word
becomes alive! Yes, when the Word becomes flesh!
John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among
us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of
the Father, full of grace and truth.
Without Logos, there is no Rhema! Without the Written Word, there
is no Spoken Word!
We often look everywhere else trying to find solutions for the
problems in our life, or looking for directions for the days head.
But we often will not read our Bibles diligently, and seek His face
patiently. We then rely on what we hear from others, and on what and
how we feel! Very often, we may have some initial comforts and
hopes, but those feelings will soon fade away as they are not
solidly founded upon the Word of God!
The sayings of Jesus are more than mere words. They are the words of
life! When we read the Written Word, and meditate upon what the Word
says, and keep the Word in our hearts, it will often come back to
us, and become alive!
The Word can come to us as a revelation while driving, while
walking, while having a meal, while sleeping or dreaming or while we
are doing our daily and mundane chores.
What this happens, it will seem like God is speaking directly to us.
The Written Word becomes alive! The Written Word becomes the Spoken
Word! And this Rhema Word will give us the peace of God, and will
direct and guide us in what to do next. And this Rhema Word will bring
us joy and hope that will not fade away easily!
Jesus had spoken to us! He had told us these things so that we can
have peace in Him. In this world, we will have troubles and
problems. But we need to be strong and very courageous as our Lord had overcome
the world!
How do we be strong and very courageous in these difficult and tough
times?
Joshua 1:7-9
7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe
to do according to all the law which Moses My servant
commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to
the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but
you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do
according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your
way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be
afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever
you go.
We can be strong and very courageous when we trust in the Lord,
and obey what He had already told us in His Written Word! If we
follow His Word faithfully, we will succeed in everything we do, and
we will overcome the problems in our life. We need to always
remember what is written in His Word! We need to study it day and
night. Then we will know what He desires, and diligently obey
everything that is written therein. If we do this, we will wise up,
and will be doing well in everything in life. We need to be strong
and very courageous. We do not have to fear or be afraid. The Lord
our God will be with us everywhere we go.
John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My
name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance
all things that I said to you.
When we read His Word, and keep His Word in our hearts, something
wonderful will happen! God will send us a Helper! And this Helper
will teach us everything. He will cause us to remember all the
things the Lord had told us in His Written Word. This Helper is the
Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in the name of the Lord.
James 1:22
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only,
deceiving yourselves.
And when we hear the Word of God, we must do it! We need to do
what the Written Word says to us. If we just listen and do nothing,
we will not be fooling others. We will be fooling ourselves.
Matthew 7:24-27
24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does
them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the
rock:
25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and
beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the
rock.
26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does
not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the
sand:
27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and
beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
What are we? Hearers only or both hearers and doers? If we hear the things the Lord has spoken, and obey them, we
will be like a wise man. The wise man built his house on rock. It
rained hard, and the water rose. The winds blew and hit that house.
But the house did not fall, because the house was built on solid
foundations.
But if we hear the things the Lord has spoken, and do not obey
them, we will be like a foolish man. The foolish man built his house
on sand. It rained hard, the water rose, and the winds blew and hit
that house. And the house fell because it was built on sand!
The Lord has spoken to us in His Written Word, are we hearing and
doing according to what He has spoken?
