But the wisdom that
is from above is first pure, then peaceable,
gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
James 3:17
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever:
the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold:
sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psalm 19:9-10
More than just acquiring
knowledge, wisdom requires seeking His Word, doing it and teaching
it (Ezra 7:10). Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. The man who
thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know (1
Cor. 8:1-2).
The Lift
Test can also be used to determine the
purity of wisdom:
- How much time did
Joseph have before Pharaoh to interpret the dreams?
- How much time did
Daniel have before Nebuchadnezzar to explain the vision?
Both of them passed the
Lift Test! And both of them had pure
wisdom from above.
