Just one man or woman can make the difference. One man infected with
SARS affected the rest of the world. Just one case of an infected
person can determine whether a nation is clear of the virus or not.
Joseph was alone in the land of Egypt, and so was Daniel in
Babylon. God always prepares a man ahead of time to accomplish His
purposes at hand. John the Baptist prepared the way for the Lord to
come. And he was alone too.
To be part of a group is great if it is a company of wise men and
godly counsellors, and they are all embracing the pure teachings of
Jesus Christ. But we are now living in a time when many Christians
will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires,
because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves
teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be
turned aside to fables (2 Tim 4:3-4). They are blind leaders of the
blind. And if the blind leads the blind and both will fall into a
ditch (Matthew 15:14). Beware of false teachers with no or wrong
doctrines.
One thing I learnt about true worship is the Audience of One! God
is the One and Only Audience. The rest are not audience. They are
worshippers too. God alone determines whether our worship is
acceptable or not. This makes falsehood in worship difficult as no
one can fool God. Whether we are worshipping in spirit and in truth,
the Lord will know. But for the ministry of teaching, the audience
are the students. False teachers can get by through deception as
some hearts are not watchful and vigilant, and they can be easily
deceived.
I am writing this to encourage you that you
are important and are never alone in this world. Emmanuel! God is
always with us. You can become a powerful witness and weapon the
Lord can use for His glory and kingdom. Never let anyone
underestimate the power of what one person can do when he abides in
God, and God abides in him. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater
works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father." (John
14:12)
Paul gave this exhortation to young Timothy
in 1 Tim 4:12-13, "Let no one despise your youth, but be an
example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in
faith, in purity. Till I come, give attention to reading, to
exhortation, to doctrine."
