The Age Of The Saints

For the earnest expectation of the creation
eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
Romans 8:19

The hour is coming for the appearing of the saints of God.

For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now (Rom 8:22)!

It is taking a long time. God created the universe, the earth and everything therein in six days. But to prepare this home for the saints, 1970 (2003-33) years have gone by. If the current earth and universe is beautiful, the furnished heaven will be beyond description.

The age of the saints comes after the restoration of the five-fold ministries (Eph 4:11) – the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. With the beginning of the Reformation, the TEACHER was restored upon the restoration of truth after the Dark Age of the Church. Then the Protestant Church was birthed, and the PASTOR began to shepherd His (not his) sheep. The EVANGELIST came with the Wesleys as they stormed the nations with their fiery sermons. Next, we see the breaking forth of the PROPHET this century as God poured out His Spirit, and men and women began prophesying. In recent years, we are witnessing the APOSTLE taking cities and nations for Christ!

It is noteworthy to see that these fivefold ministries are being restored in the reverse order in which they exited and lost their place in the Church. The early Church began with great light but then regressed into gross darkness. The last day Church is coming out of darkness into His marvelous light. This light will increase until the fullness of time with the full revelation of the glory of God and also the revealing of the sons of God. If the five-fold ministries are great, wait till you see them combining efforts to bring forth the saints of God!

The psalmist wrote in Psalm 119:99-100:

"I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep Your precepts."

The students have more understanding than all his teachers do! How can this be? We see that this is indeed true, and is happening in our world. The society is progressing and not regressing. The students of today have more understanding and knowledge than the students of yesterday in terms of technology, science and information. These students of yesterday are the teachers of the students of today! As the students need to honor their teachers, we need to honor our instructors of faith – the five-fold ministers!

With the restoration of the fivefold, the saints will be equipped and empowered to do the work of the ministry (Eph 4:12). Having the five different instructors, the saints will be prepared and perfected in:

  • pioneering (by the apostles)
  • prophesying (by the prophets)
  • proclaiming (by the evangelists)
  • pastoring (by the pastors)
  • preaching (by the teachers)

This is more than double anointing! It is fivefold anointing!

The saints are not power-hungry. They are simply Jesus-hungry! They will thirst for Living Waters and hungry for Living Bread! What flow out of them will be nothing short of the glory of God! They will be the living epistles of God both in word and in deeds, ministering within and without the walls of the Church!

Therefore we, the saints of God, let’s arise and shine!

Arise, shine; for your light has come!
And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
and deep darkness the people;
but the LORD will arise over you,
and His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.
Lift up your eyes all around, and see:
they all gather together, they come to you;
your sons shall come from afar,
and your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
Then you shall see and become radiant,
and your heart shall swell with joy;
because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,
the wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.
Isaiah 60:1-5
