The Desire Of God

What is God looking for? What is He waiting for? What is He coming back for?

If we know the answers, we will wise up and return to God instead of wandering off in endless circles encircling our own wilderness.

God is looking for His family of sons and daughters, created in His image and likeness. He is waiting for them to arise and shine. He is coming back for them who are overcomers by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony (Rev 12:11).

As God patiently waits, He expects us to do the same:

"Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand." (James 5:7-8)

No farmer expects the fruit to be full, matured and harvested during the sowing season. They will be just seeds. Through the seasons of coldness (winter), rain (spring) and dryness (summer), we are nurtured, nourished, developed and perfected. We are now in the time of harvest - to be harvested!

Like a farmer waiting for the precious fruit of the earth, God is looking for His Holy Bride, without spot and blemish. No farmer, after spending so much time, money and efforts, would desire a harvest that is little, rotten or mediocre. He desires to reap what he has sowed! Nothing less!

The first law of seed and fruit states: "The fruit tree will yield fruit after its kind." (Genesis 1:11) We have been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the Word of God Who lives and abides forever (1 Pet 1:23). Therefore, after its kind, we the fruits of the harvest, should be incorruptible too. The Seed God has sowed in each of us is His Son Himself! He would not be satisfied with a harvest that does not bring forth the character and attributes of Christ!

The farmer is not waiting for the hour; he is waiting for the harvest. We can be sure that God is not staring at the clock waiting anxiously for the second hand to finally strike midnight! The hour was never the object of importance.

The object of God’s desire is His Holy Bride, the Church and Israel, in one union with His Son. Thus, we should not squander time and energy trying to predict the exact hour of His appearing. Instead, we should look at the fruits of the harvest, reinvesting time and efforts to develop and perfect them.

We are living in the age of the saints! God wants all of us to be overcomers! To do so, we need to have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying (Rev. 2 - 3).

Many of us have acquired diverse teachers along our journey with God. Somebody told me recently that they were looking into the teachings of the rabbis who supposedly had taught Jesus during His growing years – by digging into the documents of the religious teachers who lived there and then. They thought that Jesus must have acquired His style, text and ideas from these rabbis. I wondered whether they had considered Home Schooling by God the Father:

"Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel." John 5:19-20

"I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father Who sent Me." John 5:30

"Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak." John 12:50

Jesus did have other rabbis to teach Him. But His main Teacher is God Himself, and His main text is the pure Word of God - not the teachings and thoughts of this rabbi and that rabbi! If from these rabbis, we could get a glimpse of the childhood of our Lord, it may be good to consider studying.

As the sons and daughters of God, we are approaching a time when we must hear what the Spirit is saying to us! He is sent to teach us! We need to attend Home Schooling with Him every hour, asleep (in dreams) and awake (in visions)!

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." John 14:26

"But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him." I John 2:27-29

The desire of God is that all His holy sons and daughters are back in the Garden, walking and talking with Him - teaching us as we become teachers to teach others also!
